Obligatory 2023 reflections
I did my best to avoid doing the typical reflection on the last year, I promise, but as the year comes to an end, folks are winding down for the holiday season and I didn’t want to make you think to much 😛
This edition is meant to be light and a small celebration of all of you folks who have joined me on this journey of mixed content that is sometimes very structured, while other times it’s just crazy thoughts going through my mind.
Thank you for being there and listening!
Thoughts unravelled by the numbers
24 Editions - Despite wishing I could send out every week, I sometimes just can’t, but still proud of creating 24 pieces of content
112 new subscribers - Changing to Substack helped somewhat, but the communities and the folks sharing my content were the big booster.
141 Followers - That’s 141 more than I could have ever hoped for when starting this adventure. I know it’s maybe not the huge numbers, but I feel privileged for every single one of those 141, because they really interact with the content.
14% increase of average open rates - Despite increasing the number of followers, open rates has only increased, which hopefully means they find the content worthwhile.
79% Increase of average view rates - That’s in part due to the increase followers of course, but I also need to recognise the folks who have shared the content and have introduced others to the content.
Top content
Special thanks
I don’t like assuming that folks who read Thoughts Unravelled only like hearing my voice, even if my ego might want to believe they do 😛.
I’ve tried bringing some guest contributors and this year was no different and the fact that the content created by the two guests is in the top 10 goes to show that it’s worth inviting more contributors (The invites have been extended and I’m just waiting for the content).
Thanks to Gabby Peralta and Chris Compston for contributing to Thoughts Unravelled and for sharing their voice with others.
Thank you
I just want to leave a final thank you to all the followers and for all the other folks who have read the content and felt it was worthwhile sharing.
All the interactions and discussions that have ensued around the content helps me to validate my thoughts, provide me with new perspectives and in some cases change my thinking completely.
This is something I do to force myself to write out my thoughts and work through what I’m thinking and I feel like all the contributors and readers are on that journey with me.
Wishing you all a happy ending to the year and wishing a better year next year!
“See” you in January!
P.S. Is there any topic you would like me to discuss next year? Please leave a comment, respond to this email or look me up on Linkedin
